Its back! Time for summer exploration! This year we are mixing it up with some single day field programs at the Maine Lake Science Center with a full day of hiking around the Pine Haven trail and Pondicherry Park, climbing on the low ropes course, and playing outside. A second field day at the new Highland Lake Preserve will focus on forest and wetland ecology, observation and play. Our longer program will run Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at the beautiful Holt Pond Preserve. The preserve encompasses 600 acres with extensive trails and several different ecosystems to explore. Participants will enjoy many activities including dragonfly hunting, hiking, scavenger hunt, indoor crafts, plant and animal identification, journaling and many more. Children will leave camp excited to explore their own backyards.

  • Day field camps will be offered at the Maine Lake Science Center (July 22, rain date July 23) and the Highland Research Forest (July 25, rain date July 26) The cost for single day field camps are $35, and are intended for participants ages 5-10. Days run from 9-3, and prompt drop off and pick up are expected at the Maine Lake Science Center and/ or the Research Forest in North Bridgton.
  • Eco-explorers week will start August 12th, and run Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at the Holt Pond Preserve. Please note no Wednesday! All days begin at 9:00am and end at 3:00pm. Prompt drop-off and pick-up at Holt Pond are expected. Cost is $150 for LEA members and $175 for non-members for the Holt Pond Eco-explorers. Scholarships and payment plans may be available.
