Join Alanna Doughty at the Maine Lake Science Center for a presentation on how to become a birder- one of those folks who walks around on the wetland and forest trails stopping every few feet to pish at something in the bushes and glancing around through binoculars at little flitting shapes in the understory. “Did you hear that?!” We will cover some basics, talk about how and where and what to bring, and learn about some common birds (and bird sounds) sighted and heard from the Bob Dunning Bridge in Pondicherry Park. In May our real birder, Mary Jewett, will lead walks from the Dunning Bridge so you will be able to practice your new birding skills! Free for LEA members, $5 nonmembers.
