Build Your Own Sensors

This course is geared toward adults or mature students interested in learning more about do-it-yourself monitoring technology. (ages 15 and over)

Build it, test it, and use it. Inexpensive micro-controllers are a fascinating new way to create your own custom-built monitoring systems. Learn the basics of designing, deploying and programming a system to collect environmental data.  This course will be taught by technology guru, Dr. Ryan Dorland, from Saint Joseph’s College.

This course will be offered August 15th, 8am-noon at the Maine Lake Science Center. Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop if they have one.

** The August 15th class is full. A second class is being offered August 20th. Deadline for registration is August 10th.

Member or Student Price $75

Non-Member Price $95

Course fee includes a microcontroller starter kit. Scholarships available based on need.
