Even if you are a curmudgeon of the snow, you have to admit, it is pretty special to see tracks in the woods. The snowy ground tells a story of who is around and active- something that becomes much more difficult once the snow is gone. Join educator Alanna Doughty and Maine Master Naturalist Leigh Hayes for a morning of piecing together the stories in the woods. Participants will meet at LEA on Main Street at 8:30 and carpool to Holt Pond, equipped with snowshoes, to explore the preserve all morning and discover who has been enjoying our wintery absence. Be prepared with water and a snack, and lots of layers. Let us know if you need to borrow a pair of snowshoes! Free for LEA members, $5 for non-members. FMI and to register: alanna@leamaine.org
