WHEN: Thursday May 5, 2022 8:00 am - 12:00:00

WHERE: Maine Lake Science Center, 51 Willett Road, Bridgton

Determining where certain land use and natural resource regulations apply, where setbacks exist, and what standards need to be followed can be complicated topics for many contractors, landowners, and government officials alike. This class will explore the state and local regulations regarding natural resources, including the Natural Resources Protection Act, Municipal Shoreland Zoning, Stormwater Law, and Erosion Control Law. This course will explore the permitting requirements and standards associated with common activities from state and local perspectives.

The program will also include discussion of jurisdiction and permit requirements for each entity, ways these regulations overlap, identifying natural resources, and most importantly, it will provide attendees with contacts and resources for technical, permitting, and other assistance. The class will be taught by DEP’s John Maclaine.

This class qualifies for 4 Continuing Education Hours (CEH) for individuals Certified in Erosion Control Practices by Maine DEP.

Registration fee is $50 (group rates available):  register here
