Join us the day after the winter solstice to celebrate the days getting longer. We’ll walk the trails at the Highland Research Forest, do some winter tracking, and discuss which animals are active this time of year. We’ll also point out plants that stay green all winter – beyond the classic pine, spruce and fir trees – such as Christmas fern and Wintergreen.
Winter solstice falls on Thursday December 21st this year and is the shortest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere.
Hot cider will be available. Please register in advance here or email emlyn@mainelakes.org.
