Contractor Training Series offered at MLSC

The Department of Environmental Protection has cancelled all in-person training events until May 1. Please see the message below from the Maine DEP regarding this decision:

“In accordance with Gov. Janet Mills and the Maine Department of Health and Human Services’ recommendations designed to help prevent the spread of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), the Maine Department of Environmental Protection’s (Maine DEP) Nonpoint Source Training Center is cancelling in-person training events scheduled through May 1, 2020 for new certification and re-certification in Erosion Control Practices. If any of these events are rescheduled, new training dates will be listed on our Training Schedule web page. We will evaluate the need for additional schedule changes over the coming weeks.

The state is taking proactive steps to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in Maine. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in reducing the coronavirus risk to Maine residents.

Training opportunities will still be available online during this period and to accommodate the cancellation of in-person classes, we will be temporarily allowing the use of online materials to become Certified in Erosion Control Practices.   More information regarding these temporary measures will be available shortly on the Nonpoint Source Training Center Web Page.”
