Cooler weather, fewer biting insects, beautiful seasonal changes. Thanks to a grant, we’ve been able to fund field trips to the Highland Research Forest and Holt Pond Preserve this fall for students from first grade through middle school, teachers’ choice! We’ve had the incredible opportunity to work with some very hardworking and determined teachers, teachers who are doing some amazing things for their kiddos- and making sure they get outside to connect to nature and practice field work! From collecting data on beech bark disease to collecting seed pods of invasive species in Pondicherry Park, to exploring wetland adaptations, we love to get outside with students and show them their place! And we get to take a closer look at things too. Thanks to all the hardworking teachers out there! You are amazing!!
