Our 9th annual Paddle Battle race on July 5th drew in around 70 competitors from across the Lake Region and the wider area. We had a beautiful, sunny day with calm waters for the 2-kilometer and 5-kilometer races, which hug the east side of Highland Lake. Congratulations to this year’s winners! All proceeds from this event benefit Lakes Environmental Association.
After adult kayak and paddleboard races, the kids’ “grom” race brought many cheers from the shoreline as young paddlers took their turn racing a short loop in the protected cove.
